Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Killer Pool app on iOS and Android. Killer Pool is a scorekeeper for killer pool: it works without an account and without sign-in, and your games stay on your phone. The free version shows ads; buying Premium removes them.

Who is responsible

The publisher of Killer Pool: AATMD (Mathys Thévenot), micro-entreprise (sole proprietorship), SIRET 924 065 170 00020, 94 boulevard de Sévigné, 35000 Rennes, France ("we"). Contact: aatmdmt@gmail.com.

What the app does not do

  • No account and no sign-in: you don't have to give us anything to play.
  • No game data is sent to us: no player names, no scores, no history.
  • No access to your contacts, location, camera, photos or microphone.
  • No sale of data, ever, to anyone.

What stays on your device

Everything the app stores is kept on your device only. We have no access to it:

  • the player names you type in;
  • game settings;
  • game history and per-player statistics (up to the last 200 games);
  • your Premium status;
  • a count of games played, used for the free trial;
  • the time until which extra players are unlocked;

You can clear the history from within the app. Uninstalling the app deletes all of this data. Its security depends on your device's: we recommend enabling your phone's lock screen.

Anonymous usage statistics

To learn what works in the app, it sends anonymous events to our server (hosted by Vercel, data stored with Upstash): the event name (game started, Premium offer shown, purchase succeeded or failed, player limit reached, result shared…), a few short values (for example the screen the offer was opened from, or the plan chosen), the system (iOS or Android) and the app version. If the app crashes, the technical error message is sent too.

These events carry no identifier: no device or advertising ID, no player name, no game data. They only feed daily counters, kept for at most 120 days; the last 50 error messages are kept to fix bugs. Your IP address is only used, for about a minute, to rate-limit abusive traffic, and is never stored with these counters. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the app.

Advertising

The free version is funded by ads served by Google AdMob:

  • a banner;
  • a full-screen ad when a game starts;
  • an optional rewarded video, which you choose whether or not to watch.

Buying Premium removes all ads. To show and measure these ads, Google may process your device's advertising identifier and technical data. How Google uses data from partner apps.

Your consent

  • In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, a Google consent screen (Google User Messaging Platform, compliant with the IAB TCF) is shown at first launch, before any ad is requested: the ads SDK is not even started until you have made your choice.
  • Ads are personalised only if you consent. If you refuse, AdMob may still show non-personalised ads, which still use the device's advertising identifier and technical data for frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention.
  • You can change your choice at any time in the app: Settings › Ad privacy › Manage.
  • On iPhone, the app does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.

Purchases

In-app purchases (monthly subscription and lifetime purchase) are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play, under their own policies. We receive no payment details. Your purchases are restored from the store with the "Restore purchases" button.

Legal bases and transfers

  • Consent for advertising cookies and identifiers; you can withdraw it at any time as described above.
  • Performance of the contract for purchases.

Google may process data outside the European Union under its own safeguards (European Commission standard contractual clauses, EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

Children

Killer Pool is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure and objection, and the right to withdraw your consent at any time. We hold no data that identifies you: the anonymous statistics cannot be linked back to you, and ad-related rights are exercised through the choice offered in the app and with Google. We answer any request sent to aatmdmt@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority: www.cnil.fr.
